Welcome to Camp Mythos
At Camp Mythos, participants don't just learn about mythology—they live it. Inspired by beloved stories like Percy Jackson and the rich tapestry of world mythology, young adventurers step into the role of demigods-in-training, embarking on epic quests that blend ancient legends with modern adventure.
Each Camp Mythos session is a journey of discovery, teamwork, and heroism. Participants are sorted into cabins representing different mythological pantheons, where they'll work together to complete challenges, solve riddles, interact with mythic characters, and uncover ancient mysteries. From training in combat and archery to deciphering ancient prophecies, every activity is designed to immerse kids in a world where they're the heroes of their own epic tale.
This isn't just a program—it's a transformative experience where imagination meets education, where shy kids find their voice through character play, and where every child discovers their unique talents and strengths.
The Four Pantheons
At Camp Mythos, demigods are sorted into cabins based on their divine heritage. Each pantheon has unique powers and cultural traditions:
Greek Pantheon — Children of the Olympians, wielders of classical heroic powers. Greek demigods draw upon the legacy of heroes like Hercules and Perseus, trained in the traditional arts of sword, shield, and cunning strategy.
Roman Pantheon — Heirs to the might of the Imperium, Roman demigods possess the power of "Pride of the Imperium"—the ability to command attention and rally allies in battle. They value discipline, honor, and strategic thinking.
Egyptian Pantheon — Children of the ancient gods of the Nile, Egyptian demigods are "Desert Travelers" with natural resistance to fire and heat. They channel powers from deities like Bast (victory), Thoth (wisdom), and Ra (the sun).
Norse Pantheon — Descendants of the Asgardian gods, Norse demigods are fierce warriors with natural resilience against the cold. They draw power from Odin, Thor, Freya, and the other gods of the northern realms.
Each demigod discovers their divine parent during the sorting ceremony, gaining unique powers tied to their patron deity—whether that's the wisdom of Minerva, the ferocity of Ares, the magic of Isis, or the thunder of Thor.
Program Options
Camp Mythos can be customized for your organization's needs:
Single Session (2-3 hours): A complete adventure with sorting ceremony, training activities, and a culminating quest challenge. Perfect for library programs, birthday parties, or special events.
Multi-Session Series (4-6 sessions): An extended adventure that builds week over week, allowing participants to develop their characters, learn new skills, and experience an epic storyline that unfolds across multiple sessions.
Special Events: Custom mythology experiences for festivals, school enrichment days, or themed events.
A Typical Camp Mythos Session
Picture this: Participants arrive and are greeted by their counselor—a skilled "quest leader" who guides them through the adventure. After the opening ceremony where the Oracle delivers the day's prophecy, demigods are sorted into their pantheon cabins and discover their divine parent.
Each demigod receives their character with unique powers based on their divine heritage. They'll have Health Points and Mana Points to manage as they navigate training activities and quest challenges—learning to use their abilities strategically.
Training activities rotate throughout the session: mastering foam sword combat, practicing spell-casting with spell packets, decoding ancient riddles, or strategizing with cabin-mates for the main quest.
The highlight of every Camp Mythos session is Capture the Flag—an epic team competition where cabins compete for the Golden Torch, a powerful artifact that grants special abilities to the victors. Demigods must use their unique pantheon powers, work as a team, and outwit opposing cabins to claim victory.
Sessions conclude with character development time where participants reflect on their heroic journeys and prepare for future adventures.
What Makes Camp Mythos Special
Camp Mythos stands apart because we understand that every child is a hero in their own story. Our program is carefully designed to:
Celebrate All Learning Styles: Whether your child is a natural leader, a creative thinker, or someone who shines when given time to observe and plan, Camp Mythos provides opportunities for every type of learner to excel.
Build Real Skills Through Play: While participants are having the time of their lives battling "hydras" and decoding prophecies, they're actually developing critical thinking, emotional intelligence, physical coordination, and collaborative problem-solving skills that serve them long after the program ends.
Create Inclusive Community: We've worked with thousands of kids, including many who are neurodivergent, shy, or new to group programs. Our trained facilitators excel at creating a supportive environment where every participant feels valued, safe, and empowered to engage at their own comfort level.
Combine Education with Adventure: Organizations love that Camp Mythos sneaks in learning about ancient cultures, languages, history, and literature—all wrapped in an adventure so engaging that kids don't even realize they're absorbing knowledge.
