Welcome to Eaglesclaw School of Wizardry
Eaglesclaw is the first American School for Witchcraft and Wizardry, founded in Massachusetts in 1793. Every child who's ever dreamed of receiving their acceptance letter can live that dream at Eaglesclaw School of Wizardry. This isn't just a program—it's a fully immersive wizarding school where students attend magical classes, get sorted into houses, solve mysteries threatening the school, and discover their unique magical talents.
From the moment students arrive, they're transported into a world of wonder. They'll receive their wands, be sorted into one of four houses (each founded by legendary American witches and wizards), and begin their journey as first-year wizarding students. They'll attend classes like Potions, Charms, Magical Creatures, Divination, and Defense Against the Dark Arts—each carefully designed to blend fantasy with real educational concepts.
The Four Founders
Gretchen Grizzleheart (Green & Silver) — Known as "the mother of the motherless," Gretchen established the orphanage that became Eaglesclaw. Influenced by her Lenape heritage, she believed in living in harmony with nature. She was particularly gifted in potions, herbology, and care of magical creatures. Her pet bear Reginald Fuzzybottom accompanied her everywhere.
Leopold Lammasador (Red & Gold) — A hero of the American Revolutionary War who fought alongside George Washington. Leopold spoke 32 languages and valued reading and studiousness above all else. He established the first American wizarding classes in History of Magic and Defense Against the Dark Arts.
Madora Merdock (Blue & Bronze) — An adventurer from Spain who traveled the world commanding her own ship. She married Connor Merdock, whose name appears in invisible wizarding ink on the Declaration of Independence. Madora used her wealth to help transform Gretchen's orphanage into the first American School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. She believed children learn best through exploration and adventure.
Sebastian Snowbeak (Grey & Platinum) — A Scottish animagus and philosopher who influenced Thomas Paine. Sebastian was instrumental in establishing the U.S. Department of Magic. He believed in self-reliance and that true community can only be formed from truly independent individuals.
Program Options
Eaglesclaw can be customized for your organization's needs:
Single Session (2-2.5 hours): A complete wizarding experience with sorting ceremony, one or two magical classes, and a mystery challenge. Perfect for library programs, birthday parties, or special events.
Multi-Session Series (4-6 sessions): An extended experience that builds week over week, allowing students to take multiple classes, develop their magical abilities, and experience an epic mystery that unfolds across sessions.
Special Events: Custom wizarding experiences for festivals, school enrichment days, or themed events.
A Typical Eaglesclaw Session
Imagine your child's excitement as they're called forward for the Sorting Ceremony, where they're sorted into one of the four houses: brave Grizzleheart, scholarly Lammasador, adventurous Merdock, or resourceful Snowbeak.
Then comes magical classes. In Potions, students mix ingredients and observe real chemical reactions disguised as magical elixirs. In Charms, they practice wand movements while learning about the "magic" of physics and motion. Magical Creatures class introduces them to real animals with fascinating adaptations that seem almost supernatural.
Throughout the session, a mystery unfolds. Strange things are happening at Eaglesclaw—perhaps artifacts are disappearing, or mysterious creatures are appearing where they shouldn't. Students follow clues, interview characters, and piece together the puzzle, with each house contributing their unique strengths.
Educational Magic
Parents appreciate that while kids are having the time of their lives casting "spells" and brewing "potions," they're actually: - Learning scientific concepts through hands-on experiments - Developing logical reasoning through mystery-solving - Practicing teamwork and leadership in house challenges - Building confidence through character roleplay - Engaging with literacy through spellbook creation and storytelling - Developing empathy by seeing situations from different characters' perspectives
Perfect For
Eaglesclaw is ideal for children who: - Love Harry Potter and magical fantasy worlds - Enjoy mysteries, puzzles, and problem-solving - Thrive in imaginative, story-driven environments - Want to make friends who share their interests - Are looking for a non-competitive, inclusive experience - Need a supportive environment to build confidence
